Legendary group: Dark, vast and relentless. The hordes of Vishna-Ghrim have always comprised the bulk of the army of darkness.Within its ranks are myriad of skills from mere beginners to masters of swordmanship and tactics. Their relative lack of mobility is offset by heavy weaponry and strict dicipline which makes most Vishna-Ghrims excellent formation soldiers, naturally adept at holding or gaining ground against strong oponents. Legendary group: Not so numerous as Vishna-Ghrim but what it lacks in numbers it makes good in prowess and stamina. Has times and again (despite shabby appearance) been the most decisive group amidst the armies of light. Excellent heavy scirmishers with intimate knowledge of the terrain. Relatively high average skill level (only a few unskilled or mediocre fighters). Joyful and enthusiastic in their approach they are always willing to accept anyone into their group.

Legendary group: Immensely Illuminated Brotherhood is a strange mixture of absurd humor (derived from popular culture) and exceptional tactical skills. They have, since their appearance, been instrumental to the host of light as strategists and heavy support unit. IIB is the one group who has possibly best achieved the melding between a battle game and classical role playing, being both effective in combat but keeping in character at the same time. They are comprised mostly of adult players, with tons of gaming/fighting experience. As a group they usually fulfill the role of heavy infantry but sometimes split up into smaller, lighter, teams as well.

Description: The Uruks are the people who are born near the so called Battlefield. Their looks differ by regions: green-skinned, brown-skinned or black with their faces sculpted in grotesque ways by the chaos, that is their nature and battle scars that are proof of their wild ways. By serving The Darkness in the depths of their cave fortresses and wild evil forests, their communities have spread into clans, who tirelessly fight among themselves. Once in a while some individuals arise stronger, bigger and cleverer than most other uruk clanleaders and unite some of the clans into a Horde but they eventually disperse after the fall of the chief. But every year witches and shamans call out the arrival of the Nordic Equinox and all clan feuds will be on hold to answer the call of the Ran Throqût and serve in The Dark one’s Horde as it has always been in the past.

Legendary group: The Orcs of Nordic Equinox are a special group who tied the back-story of their whole being with the world of Nordic Equinox, even though they are players, not NPC's. They do take part in scenarios, but they are first and foremost a roleplaying group. They where also the first to erect their camp in-game and in the Wild Zone. Ran Throqût is a large and quickly evolving group that consists of few older and experienced players (the "Uruks") and a lot of youngsters ("the Goblins" or "Snagas"). In true goblin fashion they are not overly strong or brave individually, rather preferring to daunt their enemies and flee. But they get emboldened in large groups and if also whipped into frenzy by the Uruks, can overwhelm opponents by sheer numbers. They are also a constant menace and nuisance to any lone travelers in the Wild Zone at night. Many adventures have ended in torment and death in the slave pits of the Orc Camp. They are also learning and getting more cunning from year to year.

Description: Dwarves are short and strong. Many have mighty beards and long hair. They live among their mountains, underground, and in valleys where they cultivate the land. They believe that work and fun should go hand in hand. They have social songs to keep the rhythm while mining, and their dining table is always laden with mead, meat, and cheese.
Dwarves are particularly proud of their family. They stick together and pass down skills and knowledge from generation to generation to bring fame and honor to their clan.
Although dwarves have lived in the world for a very long time, their relationships with humans and elves have not been very good. To protect their people from constant wars and conflicts, the old dwarf king decided to take his people into hiding. For hundreds of years, they cultivated fields in the valleys, dug tunnels into the mountains, and forged mighty weapons.
However, in their great mining frenzy, the dwarves dug too deep into the heart of the mountain and had to go to war against the mountain trolls living there. In the war, both the king and his six eldest sons perished. Only the youngest heir to the throne, Ikol Ilo Noblebrew, survived, as he had left the mountain before the war after a quarrel with his father. Now he has returned and decided to reopen the kingdom to trade with the outside world.

Description: A century ago a huge army of demons rose from the underworld, ready to do battle upon a terrible enemy. They set out, lead by prince Malphas. The mysterious foe however was far more cunning and powerful than the demons expected. Although after years of fighting the demons prevailed, the victory came at a heavy cost. Most of the demons where dead, only Malphas with his entourage still remained. In his rage and grief he incinerated all vanquished foes completely, until no trace of their existence remained. Malphas felt dishonored. Although the enemy was utterly destroyed only a handful of demons remained of the vast army. He decided to restore his honor by fighting on the ground, until a century has passed from his war. The prince gathered all demons who had not yet succumbed to their wounds and started looking for battles. After a while he realized that he had too few fighters and he recruited some lower demons. None of the demons who fought in the great war, blame Malphas for the loss. His high morale was what ultimately gained victory for the demons. The prince trusts his soldiers completely, however he has some doubts about the new recruits.

Several of the larger groups have a fixed camp on the in-game area.
If you wish to try the same then first of all we STRONGLY suggest you contact one of the larger groups with a camp (or us if you don't know them) and arrange your stay there. That is by far the easiest way.
If you wish for a camp all for your own, it is indeed possible, there are however conditions you must follow. The rules can be roughly classed in three categories, critical rule, mandatory rule, suggestion.
First of all your group has to be 30 players or more (registered and tickets bought) to be considered for a special camping site. Also we have the right to refuse your request without further arguments or explanations if we feel so.
Critical rules are absolute must! Failure to comply with these will mean that you will have to move your camp immediately and with no further arguments to the out-of-game zone.
Mandatory rules are to be followed at all times. If you fail to do so, game masters will point the shortcomings out to you. If you repeatedly ignore or do not improve your demeanor, your camp will again be deported.
Suggestions are our way to let you know how we feel about your activities, if you can, please heed them, but if you have pressing reasons not to, then so be it.
Critical rules:
- NO WILD CAMPING! all camping or rest-and-relief sites that are not in the out-of-game camping zone, MUST be coordinated with the Game Masters before the event (preferably weeks ahead).
- At no time must your activities pose a fire hazard. Make absolutely sure that any live flame you use is coordinated with us and never unattended.
- No excessive drinking for adults in in-game camps and absolutely no alcohol use by minors!
Mandatory rules:
- The camping site has to be in-game and it's appearance must be kept authentic (in a sense of a fantasy game, historic authenticity is not mandatory). That means your best effort, to make sure that there are no out-of-game or too modern looking items visible within your camp.
- No trash laying around!
- All the relevant rules about the zone you are set up in, apply. When in white zone, no unconsensual combat but no down-time either. When in red zone you must always stay in character, especially if you notice someone around.
- Everyone staying in a player camp must recognize the fact that (irrespective of their age) anyone in the camp can be woken, attacked or required to go to Manala at any time during the night. If you wish to sleep undisturbed, do not spend the night in a player camp but rather organize a tent for yourselves on the out-of-game area (next to the parking lot).
Suggestions:
- As a general rule you should be willing to roleplay at all times when camping in-game. It is perfectly fine to send people away if you do not wish to interact with them but that as well should be done in character.
- An in-game camp should be an expression of your creativity, not just a "convenient location nearer to action", if your only goal is to use it as a personal(ized) resting spot or weapon's cache, please don't. Time and effort should be put into it, to make it look and feel as much "YOU" as possible. It should be directed towards other players as much as yourselves - make it awesome.
- Make it inclusive not exclusive. Invite people in or bring them in, make the tents accessible (decorate them inside as well). Don't make them look from afar. Think of stuff you can do to create a special "feel" even for your daily life in camp. Strive to have at least some visitors (willing or unwilling) at all times.
- Make for roleplaying opportunities if at all possible. Allow some obvious sneak-in's and/or escapes, don't turn away shifty characters "just because". Make it a good story for the other player, give him something to brag about, even if you could have stopped it at any time. This does not mean you should allow for serious stuff like your host flag to be stolen or your leader assassinated, but when it's not inconvenient or too dangerous for you, make it interesting.
- Everything in your camp should "tell a good story!"
Build teams
If you would want to arrive early to set up your in-game camp, you can do so at no extra cost. But you must coordinate that with us. The build team size has to be kept reasonable (up to 10 people usually), you must bring your own food and water, your movements are limited between the parking lot and easiest route to your camping site. You can not wander, use any of the infrastructure (i.e. no sleeping in the castle etc.) or scout the area.
Once your camp is set up, you should remain there, or in the out-of-game area, until the game starts.
Arriving before the official check-in
- Early arrivals are NOT allowed to roam the game area!
- If you arrive early and are not part of a build team you MUST remain in the out-of-game area.
- If you are part of a build team you MUST remain in the vicinity of your camp - you CAN NOT "visit" other build sites or make use of the general in-game area.
All your preparations must be completed an hour before the official check in starts. Since there will be no possibility to check-in (verify your tickets, etc.) before we start - everyone who is not a member of the organizing team must clear out from the game area an hour before check in!
Before the game starts the check-in will be at the gates. During the game, check-in will be handled at the organizers HQ. If you arrive during the game, the organizers may not have the time to check you in right away. You must wait in the Manala until you can be checked in.
There will be no downtimes (i.e. camps can always be attacked etc.). The contests between hosts will be held during specific time periods as noted in this timetable. There will be no official contests outside those time frames. The roleplaying part will be active throughout the whole event. Maybe less so during mornings and host contests and more so during evenings but as a rule the roleplaying starts with the opening ritual and ends with closing ritual.
Each host contest will be announced with a call to arms - a specific repeating soundbite played by the Disciples of The Dragon. Each camp or player that chooses to answer the call must gather in the central white zone immediately. The call will be repeated but contest briefing will start within 15 minutes from the first call. If you intend to take part in the contests, you should be ready to move out quickly during the time periods that calls are likely to happen.
Arriving before the official check-in on Thursday at 17:00

If you are new to Nordic Equinox then we must emphasize that this regulation is NOT OPTIONAL. We will be very busy, we will not socialize with you, help you with your gear or with directions, etc. We will FIRMLY inform you that you have to vacate the game-area.
You can explore and sight-see to your heart's content during the event. During the setup your presence will be extremely disruptive and will be treated as such! Please take this into consideration when planning to arrive early!

Price list for Nordic Equinox 2025
There will be no option for catering for players! All players (or player camps) must provide their own meals for the event.
Drinking water is still available and all player camps have a fire pit for cooking.
All children under the age of 10 (9 years old or less) who are together with a parent (who has purchased a ticket for themselves), attend free of charge.
Family tickets
- Family tickets are for parents with children over 10 years of age (children under age of 10 attend for free when with a parent) or for siblings.
- There is no upper limit (or price difference) for the size of the family although only direct descendants or siblings count as family members.
Volunteers
- Volunteers attend the event free of charge with all costs, including food and transportation, covered.
All ticket sales are final, we offer no refunds!
Tickets are not named however they are tied to a specific host (host is designated on the ticket). You can sell or give your ticket to another player, who wishes to participate within the same host.
When redeeming a ticket for the armband at Check-In everyone must provide identification (suitable documents are: passport, id-card, driver's license, student card). You can not participate on Nordic Equinox anonymously! Players who participate with a guardian (for example children under 10 years) do not have to provide identification.
A limit of 200 player tickets into one host is set, once a host has reached that limit, the ticket sales into that host will be closed.
